What’s the difference? Garmin Fenix 6 Solar vs Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar?

The Garmin Fenix 7 range was released in January approximately 18 months after it’s predecessor the Garmin Fenix 6 solar, so it leaves us thinking how far have Garmin bought the Fenix solar and is it any better? So let’s dive straight into the technical specifications and see what’s the difference between the Garmin Fenix 6 Solar and Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar.

There are some important key difference I love about the upgrade to the Garmin Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar including the battery life which has gone from 14 days in the Fenix 6 to over a month at 37 days with the 7x! This also benefits the battery life with GPS on from 93 hours to 578 hours which means there is a whole 22 days difference on weather you may run out of battery while out on an adventure! The Garmin Fenix 7x Sapphire solar also has wireless charging for those of us who hate to many cables. The Garmin Fenix 6 Solar and Garmin Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar have been both beautifully designed for the outdoors and adventurous life style so it is a good idea to add an Anti-Glare screen protector for both the Fenix 6 Solar and Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar. 

The slightly increased screen size on the Fenix 7x Sapphire solar is nice but not noticeable enough to cause any big differences. We have seen much the same with the Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar as the Fenix 6 solar, a non damage resistant glass and an unknown version of Gorilla glass so I would recommend adding a Nano glass screen protector to both the Fenix 6 Solar and Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar to help avoid any potentially expensive display breaks.
